She is approved by The British Association of Performing Arts Medicine ( BAPAM) for the specialist treatment of Performance Anxieties and work- related stresses.

She initially trained as a professional musician at the Royal Academy of Music and subsequently worked professionally as an orchestral musician, teacher and soloist.

Carol Chapman

Dr Carol Chapman is a Counselling Psychologist and Performance Coach. Using methods based upon solid research and clinical evidence, she has since the 1990s, been helping musicians, actors, dancers, artists to identify, understand and overcome their problems and fulfil their potential. Carol has always been an active researcher, previous projects including studies on music performance anxiety and the identity and motivation of composers and songwriters.

She is currently developing accessible specialist psychological support services for performers. She devised the Performance Psychology syllabus for the new UCL MSc in Performing Arts Medicine and is active as a research and clinical supervisor and examiner. She presents her findings, research and ideas at conferences and is occasionally asked to appear in the media. With a lifelong involvement in, and passion for the arts, she loves helping artists lead happier, more successful lives.

Tony Yates

Tony Yates was for ten years a Consultant Psychotherapist for the British Association For Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM) in Central London where he worked with performing artists in every medium. He has a wealth of experience to draw on when it comes to working with those who have made your careers in this field.
