Andrea Fedele

Andrea Fedele teaches people how to use their bodies more efficiently so that they can do what they do better and more comfortably. The method she teaches, the Alexander Technique, helps people unravel tension patterns they’ve had for most of their lives and regain poised posture as well as fluidity and ease of movement.

She received her Alexander Technique certificate through AmSAT in 2000, while pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. There she combined what she had learned about the applications of the Technique to playing the oboe in her doctoral dissertation entitled “The Alexander Technique: A Basis for Oboe Performance and Teaching”.

She then taught in St. Cloud, Minnesota, from 2003 – 2013, teaching oboe at St. Cloud State University and the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University, as well as maintaining private oboe and Alexander Technique studios. Now in the Houston, Texas, area she teaches Alexander Technique lessons and is available for Alexander Technique classes, clinics, workplace seminars, and occupational workshops.
